Titanfall is Coming to Mobile in 2016

According to new reports, 2016 will be a big
year for Titanfall as the game looks to make
the jump to mobile.

"We continue to focus on Titanfall. Next year is
going to be a very big year for Titanfall," said
Vince Zampella, chief executive of Respawn.
"For us, it is exciting to take this universe we
created that is so extensible. In my head, there
are so many things we can do with it."

The
company is already working on making a PC-
based online free-to-play Titanfall game in
conjunction with Nexon and Electronic Arts for
Asia. This new mobile venture is an expansion
of this work, bringing in mobile developer
Particle City, which was started by Zampella
and Larry Pacey. Particle City was originally
named "Nuclear Division" but was renamed
following some restructuring earlier this year.

Pacey will lead the new developer, with
Zampella as a creative advisor, and Jesse Stern,
the writer for Titanfall, as the mobile game's
story writer.
The first mobile Titanfall game is expected to
be released in 2016 on Android and iOS, but it
will not be a first-person shooter. "We want to
... let people have experience outside of the
traditional FPS experience that they're already
enjoying and get it into new players' hands,"
said Zampella on the upcoming mobile game .

"These are players that wouldn't necessarily
play a first-person shooter but will try mobile
games." Those familiar with the game will
recognize some characters and locations from
the main story, but it is unclear how the game
will take shape at this time. Zampella did not
reveal any concrete information on Titanfall 2 in
this announcement but promises that it "will be
worth the wait."
